Augusta Precious Metals and Noble Gold Investments are two of the most frequently compared Gold IRA companies in the United States. Both hold A+ ratings from the Better Business Bureau and AAA ratings from the Business Consumer Alliance. Both assign a dedicated account representative to every customer, and both partner with Equity Trust on the custodian side.
Where they separate is in who they are built for. Augusta sets a $50,000 minimum and focuses on a one-on-one education process before you open an account. Noble Gold sets a $20,000 minimum, offers four metals plus collectible coins, and lets you start the setup online in about five minutes.
This comparison breaks down the differences using verified company data so you can see which one fits your situation.
Fee Comparison
Verified flat-fee structures · 2026
Annual custodian fee$100 vs $125
Annual storage fee$100 vs $150
Recurring annual total$200 vs $275
Augusta runs $75/year lower on recurring fees. Noble Gold's $150 storage line reflects segregated storage charged to every account.
One-time setup fee$50 vs $80
First-year total$250 vs $355
Augusta also runs a fee waiver program covering setup, custodian, and storage for up to 10 years. Noble Gold publishes no official fee waiver.
This is the first dividing line between the two.
Augusta Precious Metals requires a $50,000 minimum to open a Gold IRA. That figure also applies to rollovers. It positions Augusta toward investors moving a larger balance from an existing retirement account.
Noble Gold Investments requires a $20,000 minimum for a Gold or Silver IRA. For investors who want to start smaller, Noble Gold also offers non-IRA home delivery from a $2,000 minimum, and its Royal Survival Packs start at $5,000. Those last two are not IRA products, so they sit outside retirement account rules.
If your available rollover or transfer amount is below $50,000, Noble Gold is the only one of the two you can open an account with.

Rare and collectible coins from Noble Gold are available for non-IRA purchase only.
Augusta keeps its lineup focused on gold and silver. Its IRA-eligible metals include IRS-approved coins such as American Eagles, Canadian Maple Leafs, the Austrian Philharmonic, and the American Buffalo, plus gold bars from accredited refiners.
Noble Gold offers a wider range: gold, silver, platinum, and palladium, along with rare and collectible coins. The four-metal lineup covers IRS-approved coins and bullion bars meeting fineness requirements (gold at .995 or higher, silver at .999, platinum and palladium at .9995). Noble Gold's rare and numismatic coins, such as certified Morgan Silver Dollars, are available for non-IRA purchase only.
If platinum or palladium is something you want inside a retirement account, Noble Gold is the one of the two that offers it.
Both companies publish a flat fee structure rather than a sliding scale tied to account size.
Augusta Precious Metals:
Noble Gold Investments:
Augusta runs lower on both the one-time setup and the recurring annual fee. The gap on recurring fees is $75 a year in Augusta's favor. Part of the difference is structural: Noble Gold's $150 storage line reflects segregated storage only, which it charges to every account.
Augusta also runs a fee waiver program that can cover setup, custodian, and storage fees for up to ten years, and the company states everyone qualifies. Noble Gold does not publish an official fee waiver program. Some third-party affiliate sources reference occasional first-year promotions, but those are not confirmed on Noble Gold's own site, so treat the $275 flat annual rate as the figure to plan around.
Augusta offers both segregated and non-segregated storage. Segregated storage keeps your specific bars and coins in your name. Non-segregated (commingled) storage pools metals of the same type with other investors at a lower cost. Augusta's primary depository is the Delaware Depository, with additional locations across the United States that you can choose from.
Noble Gold offers segregated storage only. Your metals are held separately in your name, never pooled. Noble Gold's primary partner is International Depository Services, with its exclusive facility in Dallas, Texas, plus locations in New Castle, Delaware, and Mississauga, Ontario. All are COMEX, CME, LBMA, and ICE approved, and Noble Gold notes that clients can visit the vault in person.
The trade-off is straightforward. Augusta gives you the option of a lower-cost commingled tier if you want it. Noble Gold gives you segregated storage as standard, which is reflected in its $150 storage fee.
Augusta states that its prices are documented and disclosed upfront, with no additional commission added, and that the price quoted by its order desk is the price you pay, locked in during a recorded confirmation call. Augusta also discloses the spread on each product in writing in its transaction agreement.
Noble Gold does not list metal prices on its website. Customers call or email for a quote. Noble Gold signs a Shipping and Transaction Agreement at the time of purchase that discloses the spread, and its buyback pricing uses the live spot bid rate at the time of confirmation, which cannot be locked in advance.
If seeing documented pricing before you commit matters to you, Augusta discloses more upfront. If you are comfortable requesting a quote, Noble Gold's agreement still discloses the spread in writing at purchase.
Both companies will buy back metals you purchased from them.
Augusta's buyback program is not guaranteed, but the company describes it as one of the stronger options available in the market.
Noble Gold offers a guaranteed buyback program and commits to buying back metals purchased from it at current market rates. As with Augusta, the buyback price is based on the live spot bid rate at the time of confirmation and cannot be locked in advance.
The practical difference is the commitment itself. Noble Gold guarantees the buyback; Augusta does not formally guarantee it, though it positions its program as a strong one.
Augusta centers its process on a one-on-one web conference led by its Director of Education, Devlyn Steele, a Harvard-trained economic analyst. The session is free and carries no obligation. Augusta also provides a free Gold IRA guide, educational videos, spot price charts, and ongoing market updates.
Noble Gold offers a free Gold and Silver Investment Guide, a Precious Metals 101 section, an Investment Basics library, a "What Is a Gold IRA?" explainer, and a blog with market news. Its model is self-paced rather than a scheduled one-on-one session.
If you want a guided, scheduled education session before opening an account, Augusta's format is built around that. If you prefer to read at your own pace and move quickly to setup, Noble Gold's library supports that.
Augusta uses a phone-based process with no online account opening. You work through setup with a representative.
Noble Gold offers online setup through a form that takes about five minutes, after which its team contacts the new custodian within 24 hours.
For investors who want to start the process immediately online, Noble Gold is the faster on-ramp. For those who prefer a guided walk-through by phone, Augusta's process is built that way.
Both companies hold strong third-party marks.
Augusta carries an A+ from the BBB, AAA from the BCA, and a 4.8 rating on Trustpilot. It was founded in 2012 and has over 14 years in business, led by founder Isaac Nuriani.
Noble Gold carries an A+ from the BBB, AAA from the BCA (with zero complaints filed, confirmed in February 2026), and a 4.9 on Trustpilot across more than 700 reviews. It was founded in 2016 by Collin Plume, who is now its sole owner.
The ratings are close. Noble Gold's Trustpilot score sits slightly higher; Augusta has the longer operating history.
